A local-first AI memory system that decides what to keep, what to forget, and how evidence should change what it knows.

## What it does

Coming soon. Eve is a test shell for selective, inspectable memory: working context, short-term candidates, evidence-backed consolidation, contradiction, decay, and contextual recall. The visual character and chat interface exist to exercise that lifecycle naturally; they are not the core project.

## Intended use

Evaluate whether an assistant can retain useful context, forget weak information, revise contradicted facts, preserve provenance, and give its owner direct control over memory.
